Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was for purchase on November 10th, 2009 and had one of the most well known launches I can even keep in mind! I did not go out to the midnight unleashing, but I traveled out on kick off day and was there three hours ahead of launch in the morning and there were undoubtedly 20+ individuals lingering there. Just after a half hour to forty-five minutes, I finally obtained my copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3 and off I went to spend the downtime of my week ranking up as rapidly as I possibly could. So just before I get started, I just want to express that I'm a massive fan of Call of Duty 4, but I tried to keep this review from the view of a person who hasnt played any of the Call of Duty video games or a person who did not enjoy the previous video games within the Call of Duty series. I wouldnt think of myself a Call of Duty fan-boy, but I was motivated on ordering Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 back when Call of Duty 4 was for purchase. As most of you definitely understand, I barely actually spend money on games that really do not offer some form of multi-player and generally will only spend money on games for the multi-player aspect, but I did actually play the entire single player campaign in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and I ought to say that I did get pleasure from it even while playing through a second time. The story was substantial, it was just a little bewildering at times, but it tied in reasonably nicely with where the story left off in Call of Duty 4 and gave explanations to a great deal of unanswered problems. The only real issue I surely did not like regarding the single player campaign in Modern Warfare 2 was that, for the most part, it had been reasonably painless on the hardest difficulty setting. Now, I did not say at all times, given that that is most definitely not true, there had been times in which I got quite aggravated due to the fact that there were just so many enemies at a given time on each and every side and it made me extremely irritated, but other than that, the single player campaign was enjoyable and a refreshing new game to play through. So far as the controller layout goes, it's actually precisely the exact same as in Call of Duty 4 and it most definitely was great for that game and is nevertheless completely perfect now. So far as I am concerned, the control layout options in COD4 and MW2 are the greatest layouts that have ever been placed together for any video game. There are a couple of other layouts that you can pick from and pretty much all of those control schemes are fantastic as well. Some of the optional layouts take just a little while to get used to, but the moment you are used to the new controller layout, you are beastly! Now comes the aspect that you all have been waiting for! My views about the multiplayer feature of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2! So after putting in over 360 hours of online performance, I believe I can give a rather nice overview of what it is all about. For the most part, every thing is much better balanced. The maps are laid out with care, and most of the perks and weapon attachments work very well. This being said, there are definitely negatives to go along with the positives. Now, dont get me wrong here, I am not going to go over everything that is right in this video game, since it would take too long. Instead, I am going to try and go over some of the major flaws within the online feature of this video game, given that I think this would be alot more useful to possible buyers and/or previous owners. Here we go, lets get started now regarding negative elements. So far as I am concerned, one man army is the only real sketchy perk. On its own, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it can be very useful depending on your circumstance, but utilized in the hands, it may be implemented in an exceedingly infuriating way that can make any one express a desire to simply break their controller until the pieces discontinue soaring. Next up, we have death streaks. To just be straightforward and frank, being rewarded for dying, in my opinion, is just dumb. There really should be no need for this if the spawn system was efficiently thought through, which, unfortunately, it most definitely isn't, but if you are applying death streaks for anything but to battle the weak spawn organization, then you've no excuse, you're a noob. On that note, I may as well touch over the spawn method seeing as I already opened that can of worms. With no need of jumping into a massive rant, essentially the spawn system performs perfectly in most situations, but on the occasion, it performs just about as nicely as an Xbox 360 with the RROD. It does not assist you in anyway, it triggers you increased grief, and it can make you want to throw your console out the window of a 3 story or higher structure. I am rather positive that that is certainly pretty much all I've to express about that, merely because if youve played a fair quantity of games and online game varieties, you know precisely what I am speaking about. Just one other thing that performs just like that, would be the matchmaking system. The video game automatically chooses what room it is going to place you in. This means, you could be placed inside a room that has 10 seconds left within your online game and it truly is basically not possible for you to win. This definitely upsets me to no end. There is no easier way to mess up my hype to just take it easy and play some Modern Warfare 2 then when I launch it up and join a online game on a team that's just getting it handed to them. It is not fun by any means, in fact, most of the time if this occurs I will simply just shut the PlayStation 3 system off right then and there and do some thing else instead. So far as weapons go, they're pretty considerably well balanced now. At the beginning there was a massive dispute regarding the model 1887s, but due to all of the whiners, they got nerfed and are now about just as good as casting a rock at another person. As far as the duration of the weapons go, they're all exceedingly effective and if you really do not react speedily, you'll die devoid of even knowing what transpired. I believe this concludes the micro argument on the multiplayer factor of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and if you wish to learn any more dealing with it, just purchase it, since it is most definitely well worth the revenue. |
